Chava’s Empanadas was officially founded and established in the summer of 2017 by Christian Taborda, with the help and support of his wife Lida and son Samuel. Its name pays homage to Isabel, the mother of Christian who instilled in him the love for cooking. She is the inspiration to continue the legacy of creating magic on the palate by mixing flavors and experiences. It is said that cooking is an act of love, this is reflected on our recipes. Christian has always enjoyed his mom’s empanadas and created the business to share her delicacies with the world.

Our Colombian empanadas are very different from the rest of the world as they are made from corn and not flour, making us 100% Gluten Free and giving them an extra crunchy, sweet, and savory taste that no flour empanada could ever duplicate.
